Mike runs a successful, forward thinking dual purpose racing yard located in the beautiful Ayrshire countryside just outside Galston.

Involved in horses all his life, initially through eventing and show jumping, Mike is hugely competitive in all he does resulting in him twice qualifying for the Horse of the Year Show!

Training since 1995, Mike holds a combined license and has trained many winners over 6 furlongs and up to 2 miles on the flat and National Hunt horses over all distances.  The yard has enjoyed many successes including Ayr winners Shankill Castle and Sophie P, the latter being purchased unbroken from New Hall Stud in Ayrshire and ultimately rated 104 which made her the second highest rated horse in Scotland.  She was subsequently sold to America for £168k!!

With 25 horses in training, Mike is able to give all his personal attention.  He and his team work hard to provide the highest care for his horses while always providing a friendly, warm welcome to his owners.
